Snapchat usernames can be changed using these methods.
For the time being, Snapchat does not allow users to switch usernames or transfer account information between usernames. By changing your Snapchat display name or creating a new account and saving your friends’ usernames, you can work around these obstacles.
The name you use on Snapchat can be changed.
To begin, you can use a clever workaround to change your username to a personalised Display Name. Despite the fact that your username remains the same, your friends will have no idea what it is.
Let me walk you through it.
- Select the Bitmoji icon in the upper-left corner of the screen to access your profile on Snapchat.
- To access your Preferences, click the gear icon in the toolbar’s upper-right corner.
- Choose a name for your character.
- In the Name field, type a new display name.
- Tap the Save button.
Instead of your username, your friends will see the name you enter in the Name field.
Your username is only visible to friends if they view your profile during a chat (which shows your snapcode and name, username, SnapScore, and snapchat emojis), or if they search for friends and select your Display Name.
Create a New Snapchat Account and Password.
Creating a new Snapchat account is another option for changing your Snapchat username. Your friends will be added to your new account one-by-one if you select this option. Snapchat names can be saved and then used to create a new account.
Creating a new Snapchat account wipes out all of the data on your old account, including your current snapcode, snap score, streaks, best friends, chats, and trophies you have earned.
- To start a new chat, go to the Chat menu, then click the New Chat icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
- To see all of your friends alphabetically, click on All in the menu bar. Take a note of the names on the list or a screenshot of it. The New Chat can be cancelled by clicking the X in the upper-right corner.
- When you’re looking for a specific friend, type their name into a search field at the top of the page.
- Write down the username that appears under their Display Name. Repeat step #4 to find the usernames of all of your friends.
- To end the search, click the X in the search bar. To access Settings, first select your profile/Bitmoji icon and then the gear icon in the upper right corner.
- You can log out of your account by clicking Log Out at the bottom of the Settings menu.
- Enter your new username and password when prompted.
- Use the magnifying glass icon to look up the usernames of your friends after you’ve finished creating your new account. Then click the Add button.
It’s also possible to simply sync all of your phone’s contacts to your Facebook account, which will speed up the process significantly.
What if I don’t know the Snapchat username of the person I’m looking for?
You don’t need to know someone’s Snapchat username in order to add them. It’s also possible to contact them by phone. Those in your phone contacts list can be found by selecting All Contacts on the Quick Add screen.
Please tell me how to find a Snapchat user name.
To view a friend’s profile, simply tap the photo next to their name in the app. Their nickname will appear as the username in their account. Even if you don’t follow each other, their username will always appear in smaller type under their real name (or the one in your phone contacts).
