Snapchat users may notice that an emoji has been added to their chat listing when they send and receive snaps from pals. This emoji represents the type of relationship you have with the person based on your snap activity. The next steps will walk you through the process of customising these emojis.
The Best Way to Customize Snapchat Friend Emojis for Conversations

The procedures for designing your Friend Emojis on the Snapchat iOS app are nearly identical to the processes for creating your Friend Emojis on the Snapchat Android app, with a few minor variances noted below. The screenshots that follow are from the iOS version of the app.

  • In the Snapchat app, tap your Bitmoji or profile photo in the top left corner of any tab to send it to someone else.
  • To access your settings, use the gear icon in the top right corner of the screen.
  • Scroll down to the Additional Services section of the iOS app and select Manage.
  • Scroll down to the bottom of the Android app and select Customize Emojis.
  • On the iOS app, select Friend Emojis from the drop-down menu.
  • A list of emoticons, as well as an explanation of the relationship they represent, will appear for use in your Snapchat conversations. To alter an emoji, simply tap on it.
    Note
  • There may be differences in how custom emojis are shown depending on the device you’re using, and not all emojis may be accessible.
  • Select the new emoji that you wish to use to represent your relationship.
  • To return to your Friend Emojis list, click on the back button ( ) in the top left corner.
  • Optionally, repeat steps 5 through 7 as many times as necessary to change the number of Friend Emojis.
    Tip
  • You can restore the original emojis once you have modified them by selecting Reset to default from the Friend Emojis menu, which is located near the bottom. Furthermore, you may be able to adjust the skin tone of your emojis by selecting Emoji Skin Tone from the Friend Emojis/Customize Emojis drop-down menu.
  • Then, return to the Conversation tab (denoted by the speech bubble symbol in the bottom menu) to see your newly created custom emoji(s) shown in your chat listing (s).

Change your Bitmoji, as well.

It is an avatar that you can design to look exactly like yourself, and it replaces your profile photo on the social media platform Snapchat. It appears next to your username in search and chat, as well as next to your profile preferences and stickers when you take a picture.

You can change the appearance of your Bitmoji at any moment by selecting Bitmoji from your profile settings. If you don’t already have a Bitmoji, you may create one by tapping Create Bitmoji. If you already have a Bitmoji, you can edit its appearance by tapping Change My Outfit, Edit My Bitmoji, or Choose a Selfie.
