What you can do in order to send your message

In the iPhone and Android Snapchat apps, a pending message is a status or error notification. In this article, we’ll explain what the “pending” message on Snapchat means, what causes this message to appear, and how to work around it to get the app back to normal.

This information is applicable to both the iOS and Android versions of Snapchat.

What does pending mean on Snapchat

It is common to see the word “pending” next to a friend’s name in the Chat tab as well as next to a friend’s name on their profile and in a direct message or conversation.

So, what gives with Snapchat’s “pending” status? Snapchat hasn’t been able to send it because of the “pending” label.

Because of this, the app will keep trying to send until either the recipient receives it or you manually cancel the entire process, unlike an error message.

One of the following is almost always to blame for this pending error:

  • Your friend request has been rejected. Before Snapchat can send a message to a user, they must accept a friend request.
  • You’ve been unfriended by the person in question. If you were once Snapchat friends, it’s possible that the user has decided to reduce the number of people they follow.
  • You’ve been blocked by a friend. If you’ve been blocked, Snapchat won’t tell you, so it’s possible that’s why your message is still pending. The person who blocks you on Snapchat is usually completely obscured from your view on Snapchat.
  • There is no internet service available on your mobile device or tablet. When you’re offline, Snapchat won’t work and you’ll see a “Waiting to send” pending message on your phone’s screen.
  • Snapchat has blocked your account. Your app’s functionality may be restricted if you’ve harassed other users or violated Snapchat policy.
  • A glitch in the Snapchat app that appeared out of nowhere. It’s possible that the app has a bug or a technical problem.
  • It’s possible that Snapchat isn’t working right now. Snapchat may be unavailable for a short period of time.

Snapchat Messages That Haven’t Been Received

There are a couple of things you can try if you see a Snapchat pending message error.

  • Verify your cellular and internet connections to make sure they are both working. If you’re using a tablet, make sure you have a strong mobile signal and a working Wi-Fi connection. Turn off Wi-Fi if you suspect it’s not working properly and use your cellular network if it’s available.
  • Send a Snapchat message to a different friend and see if that works. Because it is so simple, it can be used to determine whether the problem lies with your computer or with one of your Snapchat friends.
  • Get in touch with your friend using another messaging service. Sending a nudge via Twitter, WhatsApp, Discord, Telegram, Vero, or another messaging app may work if you’re fed up with waiting for a contact to accept your Snapchat friend request. However, you should wait at least 24 hours before attempting this.
  • Keep your cool and keep moving forward gracefully. If you’ve been unfriended or blocked by someone on Snapchat, the best course of action is to stop communicating with them. Otherwise, Snapchat may interpret your continued communication as harassment or bullying.
  • Start your device up again. The Snapchat app may be malfunctioning if all of your messages show a pending error. A simple reboot of your iPhone or Android device can often resolve issues like this.
  • See if Snapchat is having issues. There are a number of ways to find out if Snapchat is down.
