How to Unblock a Snapchat Friend
Trying to find someone you’ve blocked on Snapchat is impossible due to the fact that blocking them also hides your own account from them. Use Snapchat’s settings to see who has been blocked. The following is an example of how to do it this way.
Click on your Bitmoji or username in the upper-left corner to open Snapchat.
Settings can be accessed by tapping the gear icon in the upper right corner.
Tap Blocked in the Account Actions section after swiping to the top of the screen.
If you’ve blocked someone, you’ll be able to see their usernames here. To unblock a person, tap the X that appears next to their username.
You are prompted to confirm by Snapchat. If you want to unblock this person, tap Yes.
A person’s username will no longer appear on your list of Blocked users after you unblock them.
After Unblocking a Person, What to Do?
Once a user has been blocked, you will no longer be able to communicate with them and they will be removed from your Friends list. Adding the friend back is as simple as searching for them and unblocking them.
In order to do this, type the username into the search field at top, and then tap on the Add button next to it. The friend must add you back if they are not a public user.

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions and answers about Snapchat’s unblocking feature.
Are There Any Restrictions on Who You Can Block and Unblock?
If you recently deleted or blocked a friend, Snapchat may limit your ability to re-add them for a limited period of time. Consequently, if you blocked, unblocked, and then tried to re-add them in a short period of time, Snapchat may prevent you from re-adding them for 24 hours.
When you unblock someone, do they know about it?
While blocking or unblocking another user on Snapchat does not give them any notice, they may figure it out on their own. Someone might search for you from another Snapchat account and confirm that you’ve been blocked if they notice your account has vanished. Adding them back could be as simple as sending them a new friend request, which would alert them that you’re adding them back.
Is There a Way to Avoid Blocking Snapchat Friends?
You can silence notifications instead of cutting off all communication with someone and then re-adding them to your friend list. All friends who have this option enabled will remain in your list of Friends. Snaps and chats will still be delivered, but without the accompanying notifications.
Open a Snapchat user’s contact page by clicking on the image next to their name to silence their notifications. Select Message Notifications from the three-dotted menu at the top of their contact page once you’ve arrived there. Select the option to be completely silent.
When this feature is enabled, you can open your friend’s snaps and chats at any time, without them ever knowing.
