What is Snapchat’s scoring system, since no other social network has one? The total number of snaps and stories you’ve sent and posted shows how much time you’ve invested in the app.
If you’re using Snapchat in any of the following ways, Snapchat claims to use a “special equation” to determine your score.
- Snapshots that you send.
- The total number of photos you’re sent.
- The number of Snapchat stories that you post on a daily basis.
Apparently, there’s a lot of other stuff going on!
The more snaps and stories you send and receive, the higher your score will be. Snapchat recalculates users’ scores at least once a week or so, but the exact frequency is unknown. Every day or every hour, it can be recalculated to keep up with the times.
How to Find Your Snapchat Score
If you want to see your Snapchat score, tap your Snapchat profile/Bitmoji picture in the upper-left corner of the Snapchat app. You’ll notice a number next to your username beneath your snapcode. Your Snapchat score is shown here.
Tap your Snapchat score to see how many snaps you’ve sent and received since you’ve signed up for the service, replacing your username and current score with two numbers. The numbers on the left and right represent the number of snaps you’ve sent and received, respectively.
The sum of these two numbers does not equal your current score because extra points are earned for increasing snap activity.
How Do You Boost Your Snapchat Score? ‘
Increasing your Snapchat score doesn’t come with a lot of information about why you should do so. In 2020, trophies will no longer be awarded based on player scores. In its place, Snapchat suggests using Charms, which are special keepsakes that honour the bonds of friendship. A Score Charm may be awarded to you if you reach a specific score threshold.
Premium lenses and other features may be available to those with higher scores on Snapchat. However, Snapchat’s scoring algorithm and how it accumulates are ambiguous at best.
Is Increasing Your Snapchat Score Important?
There is no official word from Snapchat on the benefits of achieving a higher score. So, it doesn’t really matter if you have a high Snapchat rating. Considering how quickly Snapchat is evolving and releasing new features, this could all change in the near future.
How to Check Your Friends’ Snapchat Scores
To see a friend’s Snapchat score before recent Snapchat updates, you could tap on a friend’s username. With the current app version, this is no longer possible, but there is a way to see your friends’ scores.
Tap on your friend’s profile/Bitmoji picture in your conversations tab. In addition to the name, you will see a Snapchat score next to the person’s name.
Only people you’ve added as friends can use this method (and have added you back).
In order to get a better Snapchat score, here are some tips.

- By scanning their Snapcodes, you can add more friends to Snapchat.
- Send and share Snapchat lenes with your friends and family.
